Teri has co-authored several books, including A Solitary Sorrow, which deals with healing after abortion and Your Spouse Isn't the Person You Married, into which she poured everything she knows from decades of marital counseling. Teri primarily treats adult individuals and couples. She has been married to Paul for 42 (mostly good) years. In addition to the sweet satisfaction of a long-settled marriage, her greatest delights in life are being "Grammy" to Ella, Zion and Phoenix, painting (terireisser.com), and going barefoot.

How many times in your life have you made a decision to change something fundamental to your sense of contentment in life? How many times have you succeeded in making the necessary change? “Determination” is not a strategy, it is only a first step.
If you truly want to change the course your life is taking, you must be willing to take a fearless assessment of the operating beliefs that are driving you every day. Only then are you in a position to make an intentional game plan to create something different…something better.
True and lasting change comes from the inside out. What kind of person do you want to be? What would your ideal week look like? What stands between your current situation and that ideal life? Everyone operates on a set of internal beliefs about one’s self, the world, the universe. Most of the time these beliefs are unconscious and yet they absolutely dictate how your week will be.
I am skilled at short-term therapy for a specific crisis, but what I really love is working with someone who wants to transform the inner person.
Teri’s Approach to Therapy
My approach to helping clients is based on a combination of psychodynamic, cognitive, and behavioral therapies, depending on whether the individual/couple/family is seeking short-term crisis intervention or long-term 'makeover' therapy. While I feel comfortable dealing with any life issue, my expertise is in the area of sexual issues (for both men and women), marital therapy, women's life development issues, post-abortion healing, and family dynamics. I have co-authored four books on new age medicine, post-abortion therapy, and menopause. I have written extensively for several pro-family organizations, including Focus on the Family, and have taught internationally on post-abortion healing. My most important credential is that I have survived (and most of the time even thrived in) a marriage of 41 years. The highest achievement has been parenting our two children. But the most delicious dessert in life is definitely my grandkids (feel free to ask me about them)!
